Topic: In-Game Music

Is it just me or are all the maps too... quiet? While playing battle of yavin I had to turn on my Star Wars soundtrack because a quiet death star battle just didn't feel right. I love the loading music but im always disapointed when the music stops and it goes to silence.

So, I was wondering if it would be possible to place in game music in the maps. For instance use (if copyright will let you) Empirial March for imperial convoy raid or Endor Theme for the two endor maps. Just something simple that adds some extra SOUND to the depressingly quiet maps.

Re: In-Game Music

The screams of victims have always taken the place of music to me ...

I only hear enough screems to be music if I've just droped a nuke on a city... unfortunatly we cant use the deathstar's main gun in any maps tongue

Re: In-Game Music

In-game music wasnt in  vanila bf2/bf2142 so i highly doubt in-game music can be added to first strike. At least, i think so. If there is a way to add music please tell us how.

no, RSF does not stand for "Ruthless stupidity forces" (maybe it does today, who knows?)
Playing First Strike was a part of my life I won't forget. TY for all the fun times I had in my youth!

Re: In-Game Music

I think its possible to add music when flags are captured/objectives are destroyed and such...If we had like little clips that play when this happens I think it could really add a more cinematic feel. What say you'se?

Re: In-Game Music

A little rebel fanfare when each tower is destroyed on Yavin wouldn't go astray...

When (if?) an ATAT blows up the rebel's shield generator on Hoth an imperial march would be cool.

Yeah cinematic flourishes would be awesome.

Re: In-Game Music

It's funny, really... when a game comes out with music, I want the music to stay. When a game or mod comes out without music, I want the lack of music to stay.

On balance... I don't want music in FS. Have, maybe, some few snippets at key moments (such as at the end of the round on BoY), but that'd be it. But keep it very, very, very scarce (like once a round in some maps).

Other than that... if I want music, I fire up Windows Media Player. Cop-out in a way, yes, but a good solution nonetheless.
