Topic: Dirty tricks

I made the mistake of telling RSFKrow on VOIP that I was up for the Starfighter Pin. He promptly slammed his Y-Wing into my transport, giving me -6 team points for the double teamkill (he had a gunner). Just to make sure I didn't get the pin, he crashed into me again before the end of the round!

He's also crashed into me twice on Yavin today when I was out-scoring him, and on at least one other occasion on Hoth. No one else has crashed into me all day!

We all know how good a pilot you are, Krow – there's no way these were accidents.

While I'm having a moan, can I just point out that positioning yourself so you can take out enemies as they spawn in is called spawn-camping and it's against the rules on most servers. Attacking enemies in an uncappable base is also against the rules on most servers.

You are a really talented player anyway, Krow – you don't need to resort to dirty tricks like this.

Re: Dirty tricks

There are many kinds of players, wouldn't be surprised if there are some stat whores.

If hes in your area , invite him out for drinks ... or in his case , sodas ,  and have a serious talk with him ...

Re: Dirty tricks

Really, John, I understand your frustration, but when you have an issue with a server, player or admin, there's really absolutely nothing to be gained from taking it public like this. All it does it make the person look bad while changing nothing, and so it accomplishes nothing except generating animosity.

Re: Dirty tricks

The Starfighter pin is hard enough to get anyway.  I don't see why he would crash into you for that.

Re: Dirty tricks

Have asked Krow to talk with you via email.
Personally: though i wasn't there, Krow and I have collided dozens of times while chasing the same target .  Note that I still don't have the starfighter pin either smile

Re: Dirty tricks

I know exactly where you're coming from, Safekeeper, and I thought long and hard before posting anything. This could so look like sour grapes... You'll just have to take my word that it's not.

There's a very careful balancing act between keeping your gob shut and speaking out. Some folk like a quiet life and don't speak out when they really should, but if I think it's worth saying, I've never let a bit of hassle come between me and saying what I think.

A player in Krow's position is going to have the eyes of the community on him anyway. I thought I'd let him know we're watching, and that some of us are wise to all the tricks. I also thought I'd let everyone else know he's worth watching, as well as giving them some pointers on what to look for.

Who knows? Maybe Krow will take the hint. Maybe he will live up to his position as no. 1 ranked player and become a paragon of fair play and teamwork. You can always hope...
