Topic: Radio.

Have any of you ever played Battlefield: Vietnam? You know, that under-appreciated game right between 1942 and BF2?

Ok, right to the point. In BFV, when you got in a vehicle, you could press a little button, and it would bring up this radio menu with a list of songs you could play from a vehicle. Other people could hear them too. Maybe we could have that on certain vehicles, and make them play star wars songs? It may not sound very star-warsy, but you have no idea how scary it is when you dive into a bush when you hear music floating over your head. I was thinking we might not do it for the evil armored war vehicles of doom, (tm) but we might be able to do it for something that seems like it would make more sense, like a civilian landspeeder. You know, something that would generally have a radio. big_smile

...If it's possible with this engine, anyway. neutral

Re: Radio.

I think this was mentioned a while ago, and it came down to No. I can't remember why, but theres quite a few reasons, one might have been that it was impossible.

Re: Radio.

Not possible to have a menu like it did in BFV, the only way to do it afaik would be to tie the music to firing the primary or secondary weapon which would just be the song... You wouldn't be able to customize it and it would always play the same song.

Re: Radio.

Thank the maker it's not possible!

The 20 tracks included with the BFV radio were classic 60s and early 70s rock and pop, plus Wagner's 'Flight of the Valkyries' for that 'Apocalypse Now' touch in a chopper!

Much as I love Star Wars and its incidental music and themes, I always wonder how Kenny Ball & his Jazzmen came to find themselves dressed up as Bith in the Mos Eisley cantina – it's just wrong. Also the performance in Jabba's palace would properly get on my tits if I had to hear it over and over.

Re: Radio.

In mid-versions of FH1, there was an easter egg Tiger Tank that spawned when you capped the right combination of flags. It was pink, covered with yellow daisies and the barbie logo, and Played the theme to the Pink Panther as you drove it around. You could hear that music from 350m away in game, it was really funny as it got louder and louder... really funny if you're hiding in the farmhouses and it comes driving by...

Re: Radio.

If only we could do engine transplants. I miss walk-around vehicles. sad
