BF2 helicopters are the epitome of the term 'nerfed'.
So since I'm taking up mapping I've been creating a couple maps for Vanilla BF2 and thus actually ended up playing it, too. I forgot what a strange, strange piece of kit it is.

Look, I know it all comes down to preference and whatnot, but I by far prefer having to actually wait 10 minutes for a tank that has good weapons, zoom and armour and feels like a tank in PR, than to wait for 10 seconds for a tank that feels like an unarmoured wheelbarrow with a pea shooter in Vanilla. Especially when everyone can get their hands on rather powerful AT kits
.
The AI is utterly stupid, too. On one occasion I was squad leader on Operation Clean Sweep (the night-time map where you invade an island chain with choppers and boats), and as SL, while trying to hold the CP's from the rapidly advancing Americans, I found myself spammed every five seconds, litterally, with an order from the commander to guard a certain CP. After hitting Page Down 20 times I caved in just to shut the twit up, and hit 'M' to see what CP the imbecile wanted me to take. It was the uncappable US main base.
Back on topic: Radio in the form of background radio chatter and such in vehicles, yes. Music in vehicles, heck no.
