Topic: Blaster scorch marks

I just found out about First Strike, and I love what I've seen so far, and I especially like how blaster impacts make fire and lots of smoke, but I'm wondering, is it possible to have it so blasters leave burn marks where they hit the walls and stuff?  I know bf2142 has bullet holes, so couldn't the same be adapted for scorch marks?

First Strike looks very realistic, and I think burn marks would add even more realism.  In the movies, blaster shots left smoking holes.  The smoking is there, just not the holes, lol.  After a massive firefight, it would look appropriately like the place had been torn up and shot to pieces.  I always wished Battlefront would have had burn marks.

Idk if it would bog the game down, but in that case they could be made to dissappear after a minute or so..
(or be an option that you could turn off?)

Any thoughts?

Yea its a good idea, just a lot of tedious work if we need custom ones for stuff. Like the Tatooine homes made of dirt.

Sometimes the holes were glowing with residual heat. Check out Jediknight II.

hehe anyone else try to draw pictures with their lightsaber in that game?  big_smile  I think the blaster marks are great as they are now.  In some places you can just shoot up the ground or a wall for a unconventional smoke grenade!
