Topic: A niche for the EE-3

In my topic about the current imperial sniper rifle it was said the EE-3 was to have a place in First Strike. Personally I am very exited about that. I was thinking the community should brainstorm about the rifles place in first strike.

1. Rebel or Imperial?
2. Which class should it belong to?
3. What kind of situation would requisition this rifle?
4. How should it the weapon function?

1. Personally I think Imperial since Boba Fett the rifles notorious user has commonly been associated with the empire in other star wars games.
2. I was thinking either the Support class or the Trooper class, although the Empire already has 3 weapons for the Trooper class so I am not sure they'll agree with me on that.
3. I was thinking this rifle would function in a fashion that would have less ammo and be more accurate than an assault rifle at extreme range so as to give regular soldier a bit more of a chance against long range snipers. Kind of how the Battle Rifle functions against the Sniper Rifle in Halo 3.
4. I think the weapon should be semi-automatic only, and have 3, 10 round energy packs. Along with an adjustable scope that cant achieve the ranges of a sniper rifle. Kind of like how the sniper goes about 4x-10x this scope would only go 2x-4x.

Again this is only my opinion, so what I say here can be edited for use if the devs like my idea. Just offering my 2 cents on the situation.

Are you Orange Knight?

Re: A niche for the EE-3

It doesnt really fit either Rebel or Imperial trooper.

Ideally what Id do is give the Bounty Hunter Kit to a certain player/s on a weekly basis and allow them 1 weeks use of the kit. Some kind of requirement like how much a player/s has played in 1 week, or accrued teamwork points in 1 week , or something of that nature, beforehand. I have no idea how you'd go about doing that, but I did say "ideally".

Sticking Bounty Hunter Kits on maps as pickups would be a bad idea tho imo. You'd just get a bunch of people forever camping the spawn point of the kit.........unless it could be randomized....but then it could be anywhere and end up possibly never being used.

If it's possible to randomize whether it spawns or not, yeah then I'd say just have it spawn at one of several possible locations per round.

Re: A niche for the EE-3

I personally think the idea of pick up kits is lame. Just personal preference. To do this gun justice I would say to let someone spawn with it. I think pickup kits should be limited to easter eggs and such, not only because of the spawn camping for it but also the random spawning things like that end up being redundant. I am going to say right now that if it isnt included as spawning weapon, dont include it at all. It wouldn't do the weapon justice. Also, please don't give it to both factions either, as I am a firm believer in factional diversity.

Re: A niche for the EE-3

I kind of like the idea of handing out this ultra-cool kit to team points earners and time bandits, because I'd be in with a fairly good chance of laying my hands on it!

Having said that, I don't think having it for a full week would necessarily go down well with other players. If it's going to be available, it's only fair that everyone has a chance to earn it.

Would it be possible to offer automatically offer it on certain maps to the first player to achieve, say, 20 team points in the round? Pg Up to accept... You'd only ever get the kit towards the end of a round, so the green-eye factor would be minimised.

How about having slightly different BH kits for each faction? Say, the current Bobba Fett look-alike for the Empire and for the Rebels one of those bounty hunters Leia disguised herself as (Verpine?) in RotJ. Wasn't that one of these sniper rifle thingies she was toting? Instead of a jetpack, the Rebel kit could have the ever-popular personal cloaking device or even a short range personal teleporter. Probably totally lore-inaccurate, but it would be fun!
