Topic: Lok

Thought i'd start a thread for this map.Played a couple of rounds on it last night and think it looks wicked.My only suggestion is to maybe add more fog to make it look even dirtier

IMO, this map was great, I thought it was well balanced and very ,vary playable. You could add this to map list now..:)

This a beautiful map - a combined arms map where people actually TAKE tanks, and use infantry.   Unlike Ryloth where everyone is in a starfighter - those that arent get mauled by snowspeeders or TIE's.

I like the idea of the single starfighter spawn, but wouldnt it be better to make a Lambda spawn in there?  I just think its a coller idea than a TIE/Xwing.


Some people were suggesting in game that this map would look great with a layer of polluted fog, it will both add and remove to the map in even amounts tho, so I can't really argue for or against that.

DUKE815: Teamwork's complicated.  I've found that ramming a Lambda with a Y-wing at full boost is most effective.

I dunno, the idea of having one single starfighter on the map, in a cappable CP so it can go back and forth between the sides, is something I myself have thought about (me and Ty have very similar ideas, very often) and I really want to see it tried out.

I like the fighter CP situation, but I think the fighters need to be locked to their faction though, there was always an Imp thieving our X-wing last night darnit.

In general loving this map, good feel to it aesthetically, also quite a different look to all our current maps (if only we could get rid of the Tatooine statics and replace them with something new, though they work very well here) and solid gameplay. I agree, get this in the Mod proper soon as.

OK, had a run through this on Local just now and it's fantastic atmosphere-wise. It doesn't have that many statics, but doesn't need them either. The sound effects are great, the SFX add a lot to the atmosphere, and the CP's look good.

As for reusing statics, I say keep the Imperial Outpost (it's laid down differently than usual, so it gets a free pass from me), replace Tatooine buildings, and consider replacing the vaporizers or hydrators or whatever they're called that are used as beacons atop the mountain with the turbo laser. I once made a beacon-like thingie by burying a Probe Droid Launcher so that only the antennae portruded out of the ground. If there's room up there for that, try it.

Edit: And I hope those trees are WIPs or placeholders, 'cause they look horrible from a distance (LOD thing).
