Angel disgrees.
One of the things George Lucas pointed out while making Episode 1 was that so far, in the Original Trilogy, the only Jedi we'd seen were half dead cyborgs, wizened old men and straight up noobs. (my words, not his)
Thus Ray Park and the amazing Jedi fight scenes in Ep 1.

Now, something else we havent seen in the OT is full scale ground battles. With the exception of Hoth, which is proving exceptionally difficult to be realised as a finished map, there is precious little souce material for the kind of battles that First Strike wants to show.
In the OT movies it's all sneaking around, guerilla warfare and strikes of opportunity, which is why some may find it jarring that the Endor commando mission to infiltrate and blow up a shield generator now consists of wave after wave of rebels throwing themselves at an Ewok village and a fortified stormtrooper base.
The prequels gave us gigantic battles between forces on roughly equal terms which can give the FSmod a frame of reference when looking at how that kind of warfare is presecuted i the Starwars universe.
The Clone Wars series fills in the giant gaps in the storyline RE: Anikan's turning to the darkside- showing that his temperment had some serious flaws, that he had tortured prisoners, that he was under the constant influence of Palpatine..
Also recently contrasting Obi Wan's relationship with the Mandalor Duchess to Anikan's with Padme.
It's a really well excecuted story, and I'm enjoying it.
