Re: Clone Wars TV Series

I really struggled to watch this I ended up spending most of the episode surfing the net on my other monitor...

The number one thing that annyos me about these 'political' episodes more than everything is that they have to center around Padme and Padme is always right. I got really excited when she said that bail was a better public speaker, but of course he got injured immediately after and couldn't perfgorm his speach...

Although though this is one of the better political episodes, in terms of me not hating it there was just nothing worth while in it. It really just felt like filler too me. The only new thing that happened in this episode was that Padme's friend Bonatri (or something like that) is dead; which palpatine all but said to Padmes face last episode.

The saving moment for the episode was Palpatines discussion with Mas Ammeda, that Padme was interfering with his plans. Which actually showed him being a bad guy for the first time except maybe zilo beast .

Re: Clone Wars TV Series

Yeah, looks interesting. I just hope the series would continue further up into Galactic Civil War too. It has the vibes for it...

And altho that wont happen, they will stick to the clone wars and milk it forever, it would still be an awesome continuity for Clone Wars.

Re: Clone Wars TV Series

Looks like interesting things are afoot even after the current Savage Opress mini saga, check out this exclusive clip which shows the return of an old character and the actor who played him in the Star Wars movie series...

Re: Clone Wars TV Series

Hmmm, thought I'd reserve my thoughts on the Savage Opress/Nightsisters episodes until I had watched the whole trilogy, and it has to be said they didn't disappoint. These were certainly the antidote to all those politics heavy episodes of the earlier part of this series we've been waiting for with plenty of intrigue and action. I'm also happy to see that with the introduction of this really cool character they didn't do a Darth Maul with him and kill him off before we got a chance to really get to know him. He survives the end of the episodes. Also there is a really good almost M. Night Shyamalan (y'know, back when he was still good tongue) style twist at the end which will really get the fanboys jumping out of their seats. Especially if they've watched previous episode commentaries regarding the origins of the character Savage Opress and how he was created as an alternative to bringing back a certain fan favourite Zabrak Sith Lord.

wink

yikes

And with Liam Neeson returning as Qui Gon Jinn next week there seems real love for Star Wars: Episode 1 at the tail end of this series.

Re: Clone Wars TV Series

Right so these two past episodes have been causing me a lot of "am I watching Star Wars" thoughts. Not that I really mind since it could be a JarJar/Padme episodes all over again. But just seems a bit out of SW world ( tongue ) for these past couple of episodes.

And of course Ashoka cant die because that would be too good.

Re: Clone Wars TV Series

I've really liked them, I hear what you're saying, these episodes do come off a bit hardcore fantasy, more Lord of the Rings or World of Warcraft than Star Wars, but then that is kinda what has always been so cool about Star Wars and a galaxy of possibilities, it can be so many things. Even though it was stretching out of the comfort zone and going quite far from what would normally be considered Star Wars, I feel the right tone was still struck, and though it felt like an area of that universe that we'd not explored before, it still felt like that could be happening in that universe. I mean EU Star Wars stories have come up with far crazier stuff than this in the past.

I also like how they're linking how things transpiring in this realm will have repercussions on the rest of the galaxy.

It is a shame Ashoka didn't die here, but it is too soon, I think they're not going to get rid of her until the last or penultimate series, but obviously it has to happen some time, but I hope they don't leave it until right at the very end because that would just make no sense, with her dying just before the events in Revenge of the Sith and never being mentioned again. At least if it happens a while beforehand they can say they have already grieved, and that time has passed or whatever. Who knows, perhaps with the way she ends up going out the writers will come up with some clever reason why she is never mentioned again?
