Re: Clone Wars TV Series

Talon liked this episode so much he had to watch it twice and write two reviews for the same one.

Re: Clone Wars TV Series

The General

What is disassembling squads to two divisions? That makes no sense...

Anyways... the episode: So it continues last weeks (might I say it?) good episode and stars the same characters. That new Jedi general sure loves to push clones into meatgrinders. smile

I find it curious how men who are built to fulfill the purpose of being meat for the said grinders are debating wether they should or should not follow the orders of their new Jedi leader. Some of them agree with him and some (most) dont. These clones seem like... human.  wink

Ahahahaha a caterpillar/centipede tank/droid/whatever warmachine? Thats a new one and I think it suits just fine into the Umbaran weaponry. Did I already say I like it how its the actual planet inhabitants who fight against the republic and not always the same idiotic joke-of-a-droids?

Ohhh sergeant Appo is in this too. Nice. smile I just like these kind of episodes. The heck I care if theres only a couple of voice actors for the whole damn thing due to clones sounding the same, I just like these episodes far more than any others. If only we could have Grievous in too, that would be awesome.

I think I just like the phase 2 armour so much more compared to the phase 1 that it alone makes clones seem far more interesting and better characters than the rest of the "real people" in this series. I guess its because the phase 2 resembles so much the stormtrooper armour that why I feel far more interested to watch these kinds of episodes. smile

Ahh stealing enemy equipment... seems so Battlefieldish to me... and taking off with the enemy craft reminds me of how I never learned to fly helicopters in BF2...

Good episode, as good as the previous one if not better. And next episode continues this story arc. Greatness! smile

Re: Clone Wars TV Series

Another corking episode, couldn't fault it, real full on battle scenes easily as exciting as anything in the prequel movies, top marks again.

And what's even better is that there are still another two episodes to go in this arc, excellent, why can't the whole series be just like this?

cool

Re: Clone Wars TV Series

IMO Best episode of the show.

The action was good and the character development of the clones was excellent. There almost seems not point mentioning the visuals because these days they were always so good. The use of the airfield as a frame for the episode worked well, in  "Gungan attack" the story didn't progress because the republic started at a loss and ended with another loss putting them no closer or further from ultimate defeat. The use of the airfield as a framing device allowed the story to progress from the point they were at last week whilst, not concluding the arc prematurely, or dropping the heroes in a situation where a Deus Ex ending is the only way out like in "Prisoners".

Pros:
-Airfield as a story frame
-Great Dialogue between the clones
-Rocket launchers for perhaps the second time in TCW
-Excellent Action and visuals
-Introduction of Appo, I was thinking during the week I would like to see Rex get a promotion to Major Rex or even Commander Rex then a young Captain Appo appear. While sergeant is far to low a rank, for Appo I'm glad to see that Rex won't be the one slaughtering younglings in RoTS.

Cons:
-I've never been a fan of individual clones, to me the movies implied that they were all the same.
-Sgt. Appo - Sergeant is a Non-Comm rank, meaning in the real world he would have to be selected for officer candidate school, then graduate as a junior officer (Lieutenant ect.), then progress another 2 ranks to equal rex then another two or three to reach commander. Not to mention he is listed as a senior commander.
-Still no explanation of Skywalker's absence
-Are Ahsoka and Bariss and Tiin still in space?
-No explanation to the gas in the Umbarran helmets
-Calling the launchers "rocket launchers" instead of "Missile Launchers" or "Torpedo Launchers"
-Constant use of the word battalion
-No chartacter progression for krell, repetive dialog

General Un-Co,

Re: Clone Wars TV Series

Another good episode. I could keep on watching the series if it was just about the clones. Dont really have much to say from this one, I thought it was good. smile

Altho one mention I think is worth it: The visuals when the hijacked umbaran fighters enter the battlefield up above umbara, woah. That was perhaps the best visuals thus far in the series.

Re: Clone Wars TV Series

Aye, another damned fine episode, once again dealing with the moral issues of following orders which you know are wrong, nice handling of how the different Clone personalities deal with this crisis too. Then there is the excellent action of the final act, that space battle was so rich with detail it equals the movies, nevermind similar past scenes in the series. Can't wait for the conclusion to this story arc.

And here's the preview for next week's episode.
