Aye, there were lots of nice touches and solid sequences to enjoy here. The inclusion of a Corellian YV-666 Light Freighter ( a ship of the same class as the EU ship Hound's Tooth owned by the Bounty Hunter Bossk), and a SoroSuub Luxury Yacht similar to the Lady Luck flown by Lando Calrissian, once again from the EU were nice little nods to the fans of the Expanded Star Wars Universe.
There was also more of that genuine peril needed to turn this series into more of a thrill ride rather than an all powerful Jedi able to take on the whole Galaxy without breaking a sweat style affair. It is funny that you should be considering how many apt opportunities there were for key characters to get killed off in this episode, as with this being the 4th season, and the supposed plan for this show to have a 5 year lifespan (I forget where I heard that, but I'm pretty certain that is the plan), then key characters who aren't referred to in Revenge of the Sith should be just about reaching their 'use by date' (Yes Ahsoka, that's you I'm looking at
). Will be interesting to see how they handle that situation, kill her off? Have her fall to the Dark Side? Or exile? Who knows?
Either way things should definitely get a lot more interesting towards the end of this season and the whole of the next, what will be the fate of Clone Wars fan favourites like Cad Bane, Captain Rex, Asajj Ventress and Ahsoka Tano? If they don't chicken out and go for some lame pie reason why they are never heard from again at the time of Revenge of the Sith we could see some fantastic gripping drama on the horizon.
Hmmm, and this preview for the next episode shows a lot of potential too, not to mention a few more old familiar faces.
