I honestly think its useless to have comments about the news on the website itself and then a thread here on forums. Maybe you could redirect that comments button here, on the forums. That might encourage new guys to join the forums too.

I find the comments field pretty useless, too. It allows outsiders to leave their views without having to register on the forums, but that's the only advantage I can think of.
