Topic: Launched a Dedicated Server Michigan, USA. Need support!

Hey everyone I just launched a First Strike server and not sure if I set everything up correctly...

I was wondering about which update for BF2142 was to be used...

If anyone here that is a hardcore player could you please go on the server see if it needs anything to be added would be most appreciated!

I plan on getting my clan on it soon and do not want them downloading or updating to something they cannot use on all other First Strike servers!

Good to see some new servers are coming up for FS.
I'll take a look to see if everything works tongue



It all works fine but some of the guys here might have some good suggestions about the map rotation.

Well also too I was wondering about all the other server settings there I was wondering about remote admin or rcon? I made a admin password and I see there is a port for access but not sure how exactly that is set up as I never ran a BF server before I see there are other IP's you can use for VOIP too should I enable it as well? I want to make sure everything is secure as well...

And sv.useGlobalUnlocks 0 is that correct it was confusing about what that means...

And how taxing is the BF2142 on a server? Our serverbox can handle most anything its a dual Quad core 2.33ghz Xeon with 8gb ram but was wondering if BF2142 was made to run on one or more CPU's? I have it on two atm we have 8 total to set it too.

I have a million questions and was wanting to try hosting more then one BF2142 server with another mod or game mode...

Like I say I am a noob hosting BF servers so let me know more if you or anyone else would like to lend me some support!

And yes I am a huge Star Wars fan and not sure this is the same mod group that made the BF1942 Star Wars mod but I used to play it all the time back in the day!

part of the galactic conquest group worked on this too but i can't remember how many are left. tongue

I think you set unlocks  on the bf2142 cc client to 5 and check the Minimum Unlock Level button.

I guess I cannot use that server side because I cannot install .NET 1.1 on a Server 2008 64-bit Machine has a warning about IIS says it causes performance issues... Unless there is a work around for it it will not install...

Also too is what are the exact commands to fix on that server config above regarding unlocks or do they look alright?
