Topic: TEXT_custommap error

When I click on a FS server to join, I get this message:

I have build version 1008 (from the launcher).  Any ideas? PB is updated too.

I believe that error means that you don't have the map the server is playing. My guess is you tried to join the test server which was playing an unreleased map.

The more likely case is you don't have same mod ticked and tried to join a vanilla 2142 server, but either way, you tried to join a server that you shouldn't have.

Rgr - unfortunately, that is the error message I get when I try to join ANY of the servers. sad

How can I re-install with the launcher?

Double check your filters are setup like this and hit update:

If you have that setup properly and it's not working, try this:

Run the First Strike 1.4 full installer again.   It will replace all First Strike 1.4 files.

Also, to be on the safe side, before you run the installer again go to your 2142/mods folder and delete all the FS_buildxxxx zips.  If it doesn't work, post back and we'll see what we can find another cause.

That fixed it Gwynzer.  1008 update broke it but reinstalling 1.4 from scratch, and removing the FS_buildXXX.zips worked.
