Topic: Jagged Shadows?.. also in 2142 vanilla

Anyone out there know what the issue with the dynamic shadows and the jagged lines they throw?... some models throw tight, nice shadows - others look like something out of the original QUAKE... lol

I have an nVidia 8800GT with the latest drivers... it's been an issue with BF2142 vanilla for ever and also happens in FS.

Just curious if there's some fix ya'll know about.

I will try to replicate your problem during the next couple days and try and find a solution for you.
I am also running nvidia 8800gt, im running 2 in sli.
Can you post the exact driver number for me.

Currently I just have a single 8800GT 512 running latest nVidia Driver(182.5) and XP SP3.  I've had the issue for over a year - ever since I started playing 2142... think I orig. had a 168 series driver on there and upgraded as we went.

The only change I've made to the nVidia control panel is to override 2142 (and FS) AA settings to 4x and turn OFF AA in-game.

However, as I mentioned, the issue had preceeded this change, even when I ran 2142 vanilla with the in-game AA set to either 2x, 4x or off...

I'd suggest visiting a more Vanilla-2142 oriented website, they will have more information on this problem.

Been searching and searching (just like the issue with the new 18x.xx nVidia driver that muffed up the AA settings) and previously only found the fix here...

However, if I do get a fix (or find out it's a game issue) I'll post!

So far, the only fix is to set the dynamic shadows to medium or low...

I cant seem to replicate the problem.
I have tried numerous ingame settings with no luck, and have tried numerous nvidia control panel settings as well.
I am running181.20 drivers, which have worked well for me in bf2142.
I have also made custom settings for bf2142 in the nvidia control panel.
forcing 8x AA, and a few other settings.
