Topic: CTD in Vanilla BF2142 at launch

Since I installed the First Strike mod launching BF2142 without the mod has caused a CTD every time. It's just the rather unhelpful "BF2142 has encountered a problem and needs to close" every time. I can run First Strike perfectly well (though I had an odd graphics bug but I fixed that by turning off the anti-aliasing). I've tried the usual launch FS and close method suggested for other problems with normal BF2142 but that seems to do nothing to help.

Does anyone know what could solve this?

did you run FS in widescreen when you never ran bf2142 in widescreen before?  You probably need to add +widescreen 1 to your bf2142 shortcut.

Hmm... That's a thought. I did run FS in widescreen but I can't remember about BF2142. I'll try that. Thanks for the quick reply.
