Topic: FS Launcher Install bug

So im getting 3 bugs when I try to install the launcher. *I had installed, then i had to reinstall and this started happening.*

Error opening file for writing:

I:\Program Files\First Strike\FirstStrikeLauncher.exe

Click to Abort to stop the Installaion
Retry to Try Again, or
Ignore to skip this file.


Error opening file for writing:

I:\Program Files\First Strike\MSVCP71.DLL

Click to Abort to stop the Installaion

Ignore to skip this file.

I:\Program Files\First Strike\MSVCR71.dll

NOw what happens is when I try to use the launcher, it goes to update itself, then, just stops..... then crashes about 5 minutes later.

Help?

Check the processes in task manager (ctrl-alt-del) and make sure FirstStrikeLauncher.exe isn't running. Then uninstall the launcher, and go to I:\Program Files\FirstStrike\ and make sure all launcher files are deleted, if not then manually remove them. Then try installing it again.

Sometimes Vista doesn't allow the launcher to install those two .dll's.  It's rare, but happens.   

You can simply try a reinstall of the launcher, as Neko said, and install it individualyl from here: http://www.woodat.com/builds/pubclient/ … 7.1pub.exe

If the .dll problem persists, post back, and I'll upload you the DLL's.
