Topic: Community Game 25th and 26th July
Ok, so for those that turned up you will have noticed that last nights CG was held on the Rogue Tribe server, this is due to some technical difficulties with the Black Intel server. The downsides to this are player count (as RT can only support 24) and a lack of BR files, so I do apologise for that.
So, apologies out of the way, I hope everyone had some good games last night on the Saturday CG, even before it started there were half a dozen players in and I ended up applying the Community profile a little early. Those regular players may have noticed a change to the map line up last night, with the majority being 32p, and Co-Op Yavin included quite early on. This led to some intense and longer lasting battles, and as the numbers increased both teams seemed well balanced.
Over Ryloth in particular, although one team seemed to do better, the opposition definitely provided greater air cover forcing the Imperial team at the time to use tanks and speeders. The rebels intense air coverage however led to little ground resistance and in the end the Imperials gained the upper hand. Oh, and did I mention that while we were in the hangar fending off rebels, RSF Angel managed to steal an airspeeder then park it on my head leading to a surprising team kill! ![]()
Regular players will also have noticed that Rogue Tribe had Friendly Fire set on last night, with map and team voting also enabled. This gave more control to YOU the player, to get the map you wanted. Votes were not called on every few minutes nor did we have much of the usual "press page up" "vote yes" style spamming! Oh, and never fear, that Friendly Fire setting will now be remaining on the Rogue Tribe server!
According to the stats we had 83 players throughout the night yesterday, but of course we played Yavin, so taking off what I believe are the bot profiles, that leaves us with approximately 42 players through the course of the evening, a tremendous turnout! Of course, its only a 24 player server and I dont think we got close to capacity last night. The last recorded players were at 0124 this morning, not sure if that was the RT server or not, but its a great sign if we managed almost 3 1/2 hours of non stop First Strike action!
I'll see you all again (I hope!) tonight from 1900 GMT, for some more action held again on the Rogue Tribe server. I also invite you to take this oppurtunity to list FOUR maps (please also give player size) that you would like to see in the rotation for tonight. The most popular maps will be given play time tonight early in the list so we should get plenty of time in each.
You have until 1800 GMT to give me those map lists!
