The FS_Sp mod was a seperate project from the main mod, created by Dnamro. For some time now he has been working with the Dev's to integrate the ai in to the mod more completely. Some of the space maps were particularly problematic to incorporate, since the bots could not be programmed to go for objectives properly.
Although we are very keen to offer a complete mod experience, including singleplayer and co-op, we do prefer that the maps play as close to their intended purposes as possible. In Escape from Hoth for example, I believe there were issues with making the bots fly the gallofree transports to the hyperspace point.
Another thing you should know, while SP and Co-Op is a great thing to have, it is a secondary element for us as our focus for 1.5 was the completion of the new maps and models, as well as trying to fix some bugs picked up from 1.4.
I have never played the SP mini mod, but I did work with Dnamro a little incorporating the new SP and Co-Op elements of FS 1.5. Although the maps are a little different to the conquest versions, I think we've managed to get most of them to play in a manner that reflects their original multiplayer parts. In particular, I was very pleased that the team was able to get the Rebel fighters functioning better on Yavin. I also think we've managed to create a very good level of ai. Not perfect I admit, but they shoot well and can be a challenge when they want to.
There are more SP and Co-Op elements to come but I can't say when they will be ready or what they will be. As I stated earlier in the post, there are still some issues to overcome.
