Topic: CD drive

how come i cant play fs due to the " Battlefield 2142 cd is not in cd drive" but i have the cd inside and the crack thing. please help

This has been showing up for a number of people lately, for no reason - there hasn't been a launcher update or FS Update in ages, it must have something to do with a windows update.

the No-CD crack does not work with First Strike, as it uses it's own .exe, however, you CAN launch FS though vanilla 2142. Simply Open up 2142, log in, go to the community tab, then click on "mods" or "Games" (can't remember what it's called) and swap to FirstStrike.

HOWEVER doing this does not guarantee you will be able to play FS right.  You may experience the occasional bug, and you'll be more prone to crashes/punkbuster kicks.

There is another fix, but I can't remember it at the moment so will have to wait till I get home smile

DUKE815: Teamwork's complicated.  I've found that ramming a Lambda with a Y-wing at full boost is most effective.
