I've actually recently approcahed a couple of Devs about starting a group of people that focuses on advertising First Strike and getting us known. I've heard nothing back yet, but personally I think it's a great idea. I've done a fair bit of FS publicising, but being able to do that while also stampted as "First Strike Official Representative" really increases the amount one can do.
Project Reality, for Battlefield 2, is featured by DICE and on the BF2 front page: We can have this done for FS, especially because DICE loves FS after the FS "Dev Team of Old" met up with them.
ISD's are NOT to big to move, they are just to big to be player controlled and moveable. They can move just fine, with a little bit of fancy coding.
-weekly updates, pics makes ppl go DO WANT! more and follow mods
I agree, except I'd rather see the devs working on fixing the current ingame bugs than working on new content.
-a new trailer showing the mod features
Agreed, and has been getting recently discussed in some community groups.
-ranked servers
FS has stats, unfortunately the stats server either needs maintenece or upgrading, and is VERY unrelaiable at this time.
-announce the mod on every Star Wars and Battlefield sites/forums as posible
Something I have done a little of personally. Being an official representative would change the reception to the advertising. For one thing, you can contact bigger sites like FileFront and Planet Battlefield to discuss things with the highups, instead of just advertising on forums and the like.
-More updates on Moddb
It's been mentioned to one or two devs already, but we NEED an update on ModDB saying the launcher now DOESN'T play with vanilla content, anymore. This will bring a number of people back, I belive.
-post this mod everywere as if it were a Battlefront III (i know its not but ppl will get excited and will try the mod and will see that FS is far better than battlefront, more balanced and no arcade-ish so it will atract ppl trust me)
We're simply not Battlefront, even saying we are is enough to send some of us off for a lie down. It's better to show FS for what it is, instead of say something it isn't and hope the crowd we attract (one thing: SWBF crowd - we don't want to attract most of them) sticks with us.
Regarding the boarding: FS tries to stay close to Lore as possible, there are no indidents (which would work in FS) where the rebels board an ISD. The best I can think of would be Tantive IV, but I can't see much chance of the devs doing this any time soon - it involves alot of custom models etc. There aren't any lore-acurate situations where there 2 large ships in the air deploying troops while throwing missiles and stuff at each other. If we could find one, there would still be alot of work in making interiors for the ship and messing around with (the rather complex) Titan code.
