Topic: Emulation error?

Hi, sorry if this has been posted (I did try to find it), but I'm new to the game/forums.  I bought Battlefield 2142 Deluxe edition today specifically to play First Strike, and now it doesn't work. 

The launcher patches, but when it goes to load the game, I get the following error:

"Conflict with Emulation Software detected."

I'm running Vista Home Premium 64 (at the moment--Win7 shortly).  It's a laptop, but it has a GTX 260m card with 1 GB RAM, Core 2 Duo, 4 GB of RAM--should be just fine.  I'm assuming this is some odd compatibility issue with Vista?

Also, I'm fairly certain I successfully installed 1.5 of BF 2142.  It also opens and launches normally.

I would appreciate any help you guys have to give! :-)

I know there is a fix for this, but I can't remember the precise method. Gwynzer should be able to help as he also uses deluxe edition IIRC. I believe it has something to do with copying and renaming an exe somewhere.

I downloaded a fix I found on the internet for the Battlefield exe, but that didn't seem to help--it's gotta be something with the First Strike exe . . .

I will keep an eye out for Gwynzer

I fixed it following the instructions here:

But now I am having the same problem other people seem to be having--I crash to the desktop when I click "Deploy" on either single player or multiplayer.  Any advice?

Did the autolauncher update your mod? Check preferences and make sure version is up to date

When I had the emulation error I just went to https://support.securom.com/analysis.php downloaded the tool which allowed me to download a fix for it and when it tested it to see if it worked it didn't but it worked when I started the game manually.

Create the file FirstStrike.exe to use the game without  NO DVD FIX. errors open dvd Battlefield 2142 ?
