Topic: Does anyone play?

i Just downloaded the mod and its all working and should be on the latest pactch as it updated itself and such, but when i got on theres nobody on any of the 21 servers, whats happening guys, just no one plays it?

They do, but as most players are euro the servers don't tend to begin populating until after 1900 GMT or so. Best course of action is to jump on a server and wait, someone will join you eventually wink

If more people idled on the servers then they'd stay populated a lot longer. Folks just don't want to be the first ones in and wait alone for a bit. Why not try the RSF server and see if you can get it to run to the co-op yavin map and fly against the bots.

RSF-Angel may even be accomodating enough to run Yavin continuously to help get games going. Once enough people are on you can then map vote to run an infantry map.

Generally I'll tend to pop in and check the servers for life every now and then, and if there's someone on a server I'll join them and have a chat until more people show up. Good way to meet people, as well.

...so very strange to think I was in the opposite position when I grabbed the mod; back when I was essentially an overenthusiastic forum troll. Euugh. hmm

DUKE815: Teamwork's complicated.  I've found that ramming a Lambda with a Y-wing at full boost is most effective.

RSF server is running Yavin w bots now, as per Twiggles suggestion.
You can recognise when someone is not a bot by the fact that they will have latency- keep checking the scoreboard for players.

Angel's protips for populating servers: (ground maps edition)

  • Join a server

  • Stand in the open

  • open Xfire ingame browser

  • Surf the web/play flash games on kongregate/troll the forums until you get shot or hear laser noises

There you have it then folks, a working server that will guarantee some action until other players begin to join.

GO SHOOT SOME BOTS! (I reccomend playing as rebels as the Ties are a little bit harder to shoot than Y-Wings and X-Wings on their straight line suicide runs!)

Hi all players,forum users and beloved developers.
im very new on this mod as well since Yesterday just donloaded bf2142 only to play your incredible mod. i realized that theres no more active players, or at least visible players.
I will wait on servers as much as i can.
