Topic: Game crashes on load, after I updated FS

I recently downloaded FS. I could play 2142 just fine. After I downloaded the mod, it updated when I started it up. Ok. Updated. So I start it again. It crashes. I start 2142, it crashes.

No pop up or anything. I get a black screen for a second as if the game is about to load and it just crashes. I restored my computer and 2142 works fine.

I'm on Vista 32 bit. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Same here sad it updates then it crashes after the screen goes black for about 10 seconds... I have Windows XP and a Nvidia 9800 GT and wide screen display (if that helps at all). I've played this mod before when it first came out and loved it. too bad I cant play it now.

also i have noticed that few others have this problem. is it a rare occurance?

Possible Solution:
Open the FS Launcher, click file -> Prefernces and in the 'Arguments' box type this:
+widescreen 1
Then click apply, OK then try to launch FS smile

DUKE815: Teamwork's complicated.  I've found that ramming a Lambda with a Y-wing at full boost is most effective.

already tried that, it didnt help sad
