Topic: March 15 Community Game

Edit: OK, watching the BR footage now. I'll do it as it happened, rather than from memory smile . I'll supply from pics too in a moment.

Another good CG over with. I missed a good portion of it, but I did see some great rounds. The one I liked the best was the one on Mos Espa where I spawned as Imperial mortar infantry a minute into the action and came under fire by a lone wolf Rebel Combat Speeder as I was leaving the Imperial shuttle spawn area. The thing had sneaked up to the left of me and managed to kill me. Angered by this cowardly act, I respawned and deployed a shield to protect me, and started to lob bolts over the shield until he died (I thought I was the one to kill him, but it appears from the BR footage that he suicided or got disconnected or something). Either way, I grab his speeder, pick up a grateful sniper who'd stayed behind to lay down covering fire, and head for the Junkyard.

When we arrive, the place is already secured by two AT-ST walkers and an infantry squad, so after dismounting my passenger I head for Slave Quarters with a speeder bike. Upon arriving, I find this place, too, besieged by two AT-STs and about to fall, and after dying once again to enemy fire I respawn at the newly secured control point and get back in my speeder, with another trooper getting into the gunner's position. I team up with an AT-ST and we head for the City House along the eastern side of the city. By this time other troops had already advanced far into the city, and we sneak in from the east, making contact with only one infantry unit, who is quickly dispatched by my gunner. I park the speeder at the control point and dismount for cover, while my gunner stays in the speeder, and together we secure the flag. The AT-ST is less lucky, succumbing to a Rebel rocket infantryman.

Not realizing that there are still two people (the rocket guy and a sniper) at the control point, we pick up a Woodrow, who happens by, and head for the Commercial District. On the way we run into Ty's infantry squad, and together we proceed to the control point, taking out a Combat Speeder with a single driver along the way, but by the time we get there, the City House has of course been reclaimed by the sneaky Rebels, forcing us to head back. A Rebel hides out in a house by the road and Ty's people quickly dispatches him.

When we return, we kill the remaining rebels and procure a second speeder, for then to move back to the Commercial District, which is swiftly captured. Imperial victory.

PS: Infantry, please don't stand right in front of my speeder when I'm moving or about to move. I know I could drive a bit more carefully, too, but when pedestrians run around like confused chickens instead of getting out of my way, that doesn't exactly help matters. FFS, stay on one side of the road, look to both sides, and use the freaking crosswalks tongue ! And devs, I know speeders didn't have horns, but some sort of 'get out of my way, I'm a grumpy old Norseman who'll run you down if you don't' thing would be really nice. Thanks in advance smile .

Edit yet again for screenies!

We arrive at the Junkyard, which has been overpowered by Imperial light armour.

Nothing for us to do there, so we are ordered to the Slave Quarters.

Same story there. The AT-STs have the Rebels pinned down.

Resistance is offered here, though, to a degree - this Rebel sniper takes Safe down...

With the arrival of Ty's fireteam, though, the pinned Rebels are at last dealt with.

Safe, his passenger, and an AT-ST advances to the City House.

My two-man Speeder team secures the City House without problems. The AT-ST is not as lucky.

A Rebel gets in the way of my speeder and Ty's squad, and does not jump to his gun quickly enough to be able to return fire.

We advance on the Commercial District, with Ty's squad keeping us company.

This Rebel sniper, back at the City House, would be our last kill.

Hmmm... in retrospect... if I left nametags on so that you'd be able to see who did what... why did I upload the JPEG versions of each file, making said nametags useless. The mind boggles... big_smile

Re: March 15 Community Game

Yup, awesome rounds... Out squad was tearing through that city lightning fast :]

Then when we were on defense we held them at slave quarters the whole time, we noticed the junkyard and market were overrun so I pulled my guys back to palace and we continued to hold off the Imperial advance there for the rest of the round, they never got palace and we took market back frm them a few time back and forth I think...

I don't remember who all was in my squad except ZaZZo but thanks for listening to orders!

Oh, and I had my mic on in this match, and while I didn't say much at all, did you guys hear anything when I did? Or do I need to get back to work on setting it up?

Re: March 15 Community Game

I was only ther for escape from hoth (in which the rebels "forgot" to take out the ISD guns) and mos espa  but it was a blast. 1.2 CG's will be great.
