Re: March 15 Community Game
Back on topic, that Combat Speeder really is a fantastic vehicle. She can take a beating, mow down infantry with its repeating blaster, and best of all, she moves so incredibly fast, and in general, the team with the best mobility often has a great advantage over the enemy. If you're mechanized and the enemy is on foot, you can basically blitz all the enemy flags before they can move to defend them, as we did in this round. When playing Rebel, I often spawn in the Commercial District just to fetch Combat Speeders, as they're remarkably useful at the front line and give your team that much-needed mobility.
A ME 64 tactic I've been considering...
1. Choose the Imperial team. Make sure you have a 6-man squad and tell them NOT to spawn until you get a forward beacon up.
2. Get on a speeder bike and go behind enemy lines. Bring a teammate as a passenger if you want to.
3. Plant a spawn beacon.
4. Tell squad to spawn at beacon.
5. Attack objective from unexpected angle with 6-man squad
.
Hmmm... I so want to land my speeder bikes on top of one of those big space dock rings without exits, drop a beacon into it, and tell my squad to spawn on it. Then I'll sit there and point and laugh while I take potshots at them with my pistol and get the enemy to shell them with mortars
.
