Topic: Can't even get the game to start

Help!

I am running FS from WinXP

I get an error message regarding some kind of shaders missing.

I am running off of the 4.0 update

Do you have the problems with BF 2142 too? If so, your graphics card could be too old or you need new driver updates.

Still having problems but thanks for the link. At least I was able to start it and see the live servers.

The Start In area on the shortcut had too much info.

Current problem: Whenever I select a map to play, I get this Header message with a Button..maplink. I have to click on it and the screen minimizes and never comes back. I still hear the music from FS but nothing else.

Do not try ADULTSWIM's fix. I had to reinstall 2142 after messing around with the files.

The above link for the Alt-Tab fix did not work for me. I am not having this problem running 2142, just the Mod.

It is a shame that a guy can't come along and simply play this Mod.

Any other thoughts on how to successfully play this Mod?

I did upgrade my Video card. Thanks for that reminder.

Are you running FS 1.1? Or 1.0, I have helped some people out on xfire that didn't have 1.1 installed at all.
