Topic: Hi. I'm totaly new.

Maybe the wrong place for this.

Ok , question one is 'I have BF 2142/NS.'
So to make a custome map I need buy Battlefield 2, and then I can use the editor?

And If anything I would like to try this mod out, but as other games I have the process for installing
mods is a bit tricky. And not wanting to mess up my BF 2142 install what is the common way to install
mods. I'm new in BF and Dice games. I would assume the mod folder.

Hi there tehDeathSpectar, first off welcome to the forums. Now onto your concerns, it couldn't be simpler to install First Strike, make sure your version of BF2142 is up to date, 1.4 I believe is the latest version. Then just download the full 1.1 version of the mod and run the exe. and it will install just like any other game, and should install into the correct directory on your PC automatically. It will also generate a desktop icon for you to use to get you straight into First Strike, alternatively you can activate First Strike through the vanilla BF2142 menu too.

That should help you get started, if you have any other questions or problems you can look to the FAQ linked to below.

Ah I keep getting that renddx9 error thing.
in the console its says something about '-rend-error- loading texture from bf 1942?'
Something like that. I look around It seems, a common error.
But I have 'BF 2141 Deluxe Version'. 1.40.
Maybe thats the problem too?

Well both, the editor says the directx error, and I installed several directx files.
The game CTD when I click 'deploy'. ;( 
I'm looking though.
The registry fix I used, I didn't edit it, I just clicked it.
Forgetting that I have to change the path.
So I may have to reinstall everything again.
