The mod was supposed to be like this originally - with Support being Wookiees and Dark Troopers on every level. In other words, a Battlefront ripoff, one I'm lucky they didn't pursue. FS currently isn't about putting in things just for them to be there (like the Battlefront and Rogue Squadron series do). FS is about providing an authentic SW experience that has the look and feel of the movies. It's determined not to repeat the mistakes of previous games.
Watch the movies. Are there Wookiees running around on Hoth? Nope. Do the Rebels fighting on Endor have access to orbital artillery? Nosir. Do pilots run around on the battlefield repairing vehicles and handing out ammo? No. Does every single encounter with an AT-AT have to be handled by Snowspeeder using tow cables? Apparently, if you trust RS, but hopefully... no.
I strongly dislike it when games put in movie material just for it to be there, and then find that they have to shoehorn said material until it's just not fun anymore. The Jedi training level in Rebel Strike is but one case in point - I could list a dozen more, at least.
