Topic: Can't start BF2142

Alright whenever I try to start BF2142 or FS I get the following message:
"Please ensure Battlefield 2142 Install Disc is in the drive, select OK and restart the application."

And I can tell you, my disc IS in the drive. Now I also tried it to run with a no dvd crack but it isn't working either. Little help maybe?

do you have emulation software running (deamon tools, alcohol etc.)?? those can cause that error too

(i have also browsed through the german-2142 forums, though i couldnt find a solution for the problem... only reinstalling sad )

I have reinstalled it three times before I posted this.... and it isn't any tools or whatever... sad

Well I somehow got rid of that problem, I really don't know how. So I started up BF2142/FS and came in the all big black screen. Suddendly I got CTD'd because my antivirus was giving an error. Uninstalled 'Symentec' and I could get into the game after 5 mins. of starting up.

So I don't know how the first thing was solved but. If any other problems occur. Maybe uninstall your antivirus.

I'm getting the same problem as Straider had, I've tried it with patches, without patches, with a crack, DVD files on the desktop, image mounted in DAEMON tools, cleaning the disk, lots of reinstallations and clearing of the registry. Nothing works! I really want to try this new version of FS sad
I'm on Vista (SP1) by the way. It worked when I had XP...

Hm, if you have a antivirus software, you should set it inactive before playing.
If the antivir scanner checks the process what looks for the DVD such an error is nothing unexcepted.
