Re: Forcing Squads
Can you not give people , who join a squad, a 100 point bonus? So, those in squads will always be at the top of the end round leaderboard.
Perhaps, if you can keep them from squadding up, getting the bonus and leaving.

Twigs wrote:Let me see.....run round the map with just a gun and a couple nades, or join a squad and get all the avaible items in the kit......NO CONTEST! Though for some reason, on some servers you can join a squad and not have all the items (due to low members) or go lonewolf and for some reason they are all available. I like being able to use voip to co-ordinate though, far easier and quicker. There's another benefit to squads as well, if playing as the support class, find an enemy spawn beacon and surround it with proxy mines. Stand back, gain kills. Go back, repeat. Or...place a detpack on it and run, then watch many bodies fly in to the sky Spawn beacon, I salute you \:)
You need atleast 3 people in a squad to get to use the droids in any kit. Or you can lonewolf and be able to use it w/o being in a squad at all. This leads to new squads being hard to form as a 1-2 man squad is actualy a disadvantage to going lonewolf in a pack. People don't like being told how to play the game. Force them to do anything and they get unsettled. And I have seen people complain about the push maps, expecialy the onesided push maps...

Ah..but the push maps are designed for squads. Having small squads mounting numerous attacks from different directions is much harder to defend against than everyone just running in one direction. Of course for that to work you need people to form squads in order to co-ordinate and follow orders If people complain its probably because its hard to attack a position on your own, with no tactical backup. Run into a squad of troopers, deploy shield, throw nades and lay down fire, medic throws in a bacta cannister and does some revives, second squad arrives to provide further backup and a leapfrog attack is then possible.

No, I hear people complain about not being able to retake points. Forcing them to defend and retreat when ever a point even goes grey.

Re: Forcing Squads
Honestly, that's their problem. Read the briefings, and minimaps. They make it quite clear.

Re: Forcing Squads
The people who complain about them are still a tiny minority. I've seen a grand total of one person on this forum complain about the Push system. That's not a huge number, certainly less than the number of people who complain about, say, the lack of parachutes.

Re: Forcing Squads
I see it expressed more through actions. People still try to attack and defend the points even though they can't take them. To go through the work of clearing a point only for the game to tell you "Sorry, that means nothing GG you loose", is kinda a kick in the face. Also, how is a one way push keeping with lore accuracy? Expecialy with them all being on the side of Empire attacking. I could only see lore backing an Imperial one way attack as the Empire would have near infinte troops to send in and reinforce any position already claimed. Rebels however have limited numbers and having their points be un-takeable (expecialy in an Imperial stronghold like Bestine) is just silly.
