Re: Age of Conan
I played WoW a tiny bit and Galaxies for quite some time, and WoW didn't impress. You can't build houses or cities, you can't have huge Player-Vs-Player battles in designated areas (as far as I know), like you can in Galaxies, and the stats system is the boring old Level system where you get abilities regardless of what you actually do - as opposed to Galaxies, which had an ingenious level system where your actions actually affected what you grew better at (no more of that "Yay, I've been whacking these lvl1 creatures for hours, finally I've leveled up! This has taught me to cast fireballs!" bs that plagues most RPGs and MMORPGs).
As a WoW player, I can attest to your player city complaint, but it's probably not implemented for good reason. For instance, the world is simply not big enough for a player city, where as AoC and SWG both have huge worlds with plenty of space for player cities, WoW's zones are more compressed for easier traversing, something that from my experience, SWG lacks.
As for SWGs leveling system, didn't they change it to the normal Hack 'n Slash after the NGE patch?
