HELP - I have done everything the manual says.  I start the game and it comes up with OLD CLIENT - Your Client is an older version than the server. 

I have BF2142 patched to 1.25

First Strike patched to HOTFIX 1.25.  Is there anything else i need loaded?


I am so keen to play this mod

I'm sorry you have been confused by the manual, it is pretty old, and we haven't gotten around to updating it. You need to update to BF2142 1.5 now. Then you can play First Strike. If that doesn't work you may have to reinstall FS 1.25 after 2142 1.5 is installed.

Which folder? I'm on XP and I've got 2: one in C/Program Files/Electronic Arts, and the other in My Documents.

Hi there guys - I'm having the same problem here. Just updated to BF2142 1.5 this morning. It's nice to play in WS (though I noticed the HUD overlay at the top and the chat is stretched), but even more importantly, FS is giving me the OLD CLIENT error message (as quoted above) whenever I try to connect.

I tried reinstalling the 1.25 hotfix over my BF2142 1.5, but the patch won't install - its says i've already got the latest files.

This is unconfirmed, but I have heard that installing 1.25 AFTER 1.5 can cause problems... Reinstall with 1.25 before 1.5.
