Topic: Modified Content error

Well, this is what happened.  I had all of the FS patches installed when along came patch 1.5.  I patched to 1.5 and all of a sudden it takes abnormally long times to start up the game, in addition when I joined the TAW server I CTDed when I hit join game.  I automatically assumed that I had to clear my cache.  So I cleared my cache, tried joining and it didn't work.  So then I tried reinstalling FS.  I reinstalled FS 1.2 and FS 1.25.  Then when I tried to join any FS 1.5 server I got the unmodified content error.  I tried restarting my computer, I tried clearing my cache but nothing seems to work.

try installing FS 1.25 over the top of 1.5

when I first installed 1.5 it took a while and even updated shaders again. Had mod content recently, took like three installs of Bf2142 and FS to clear it.

Well I just installed in this order...

1.4
Northern Strike
1.4 (Updated for NS)
1.4-1.5
FS patch 1.2
FS patch 1.25

No luck.

I got mine workin recently by :

Installing BF 1.5 patch
Uninstalling FS
Installing FS 1.2 (full)
Installing FS 1.25 patch
Installing BF 1.5 patch(again)

Allowed me to play on the Mandrake server anyway

The fact is though that most people will not download 1.2, 1.25 and 1.5, they'll just download 1.5 full.  I haven't tried playing with only 1.5 full though. 

I'll see if what you suggested works though.

If all else fails, I can coach somebody how to use the registry editor and clear the ea games reg keys to allow clean install.
