I think america has a lot to be proud on, even though their current goverment is haunting for oil.
- Freed from England
- The Bill of rights
- After the civil war -> more rights for black people (Ok, having slave's is not good, but Europe isn't better because the european states gave the slaves to the Usa, and the USA started to give more rights to black people)
- They did an important part in WW 1 and WW 2
- Protected South Vietnam (Okay, you can interpret this as good or as bad, especially the results were not good)
- First man on the moon
- Established "Die Berliner Luftbrücke" The Berlin airbridge
- Protected Kuwait from Hussein
I think today a lot too many people say too many bad things about america, espacially in Germany. The most people I talk to, don't like america, but there are always the same arguments(Bush always wants war, Bush only wants the oil, they killed hundreds of people in the vietnam war) I don't think that it was the aim of america to go to vietnam, just to kill people! They wanted a democratic system there, even if their way was not okay, their aim was much better.
And even if Bush just wants the oil - he cannot get more money from the oil, than america spend on helping!
