I use the Microsoft SideWinder Precision 2 for all my piloting needs. Have for years, and it's probably all I will ever need. Well, I wouldn't mind getting some foot pedals to relieve my already overloaded hands. Especially when Beyond the Red Line is released. Freespace 2 engine meets Battlestar Galactica? Kickpie.
I would also suggest the Eternal Silence HL:2 mod for you pilots who want to choose between simple and Newtonian physics, and have capital ship incursions, along with infantry combat. Oh, Friday their 3.0 patch is released, so you should have plenty of lemmings to shoot at, and new toys to play with. I had it on my computer, but removed it awhile back to make way for CoD4. You try living with an 80gb hard drive. (Not getting a new one for awhile, I hate formatting hard drives... Err... Having my brother format my hard drives.)

I really don't have time for FS anymore (First Strike, not Freespace), so unless I get bored with my Half-Life mods (Done!) and CoD4, I might not see you guys for awhile. No offense. FS is an amazing mod, it's just the BF 2142 engine... It doesn't even seem like EA took the time to finish it. (These aren't patches, they're band-aids! For a game that has cancer!) Okay, lousy excuse, I just don't have time. And going back to the 80gb hard drive thing... First Strike may be drawing the short straw in the upcoming months, if I plan on getting Mass Effect and Spore. It and every single Half Life mod of mine.
Getting rid of FS would probably be the equivalent of castrating myself to release myself from a trap and save my life. Okay, bad analogy... What kind of trap would force you to make that decision?
Know what, once 1.3 comes out you'll probably see me again, don't fret. I would presumeably have another hard drive by then, being that it will be 2012 and you will all have one day to play 1.3 before we undergo a massive pole-shift
