Well the real problem is here is that first strike doesn't have a big fan base... I don't know why, I really like it, but really, this mod is gona die too fast if the amount of people playing is stay in this level for long sad . Though I think the problem with the "bad first release" of first strike... I remember there was like 20-30 server and atleast 4-5 full at the start... then it start to get decrease rapidly... and it won't be easy to lure people back now. Especially when a new player doesn't look more into it, just download the client, go up, notice there are no servers, if he is devoted he try it once or twice, if no luck he will uninstall it and think this mod died or something. Soo the developers will have a hard time to get a decent playerbase around this mod, but I hope somehow they will solve it though.

The reason our player base decreased was because patch 1.5 came out.

nah I doesn't mean the 1.2 release... it doesn't really gave back that much player than I hoped. I mean the first release of first strike. Though yeah there was a bit decrease in the playerbase with patch 1.5 but that wasn't that notable, or atleast for me. I could play sometimes before 1.5 and I can play sometimes after 1.5 . The problem is, I prefer big servers big_smile , at least near 32, though I would really love to play first strike in a full 64 server smile .

yea, and me not being able to stay on a server coz of ping restrictions disencourages me from passing the word forward bout the mod, if i have the problem, others may have the same problem, and be WAY less patient to solve it...

Hos your own server in Brazil then if you have other gamers down their who would want to play it smile

And alos, technicaly, Brazil is not overseas from America wink

If people from actualy across the sea are getting higher ping (I get about 200 to Australia from Texas), Its quite likely its your internet thats the problem.   What speed is your internet?

It was the exact same thing when 2142 - 1.4 was released.
So many people left because we took almost 2 weeks to get the servers straight,
But the die hard fans stayed ... and those people are usually the better people anyway.

People with really short attention spans really bore me. Is that a paradox or what?

So as we repeat the rinse-and-spin cycle of a new EA games patch... this time is mitigated much better. Servers were only out of commission for a day or less. And overall, even with the missing people that will straggle back here eventually, the numbers look better than the famine we survived before.
