Re: Just being curious.

Rebel - Destroy the towers = nothing

As far as I know, you do get points for destroying towers. You just don't see it until the end of the round.

An example of stat padding would be one guy letting another guy get however many headshots he needs for a badge and then he would let the other guy do the same.

sometimes they throw a medic in there reviving the guy getting shot too

Wow.  Sounds pretty dull!

I don't believe that for a second.  I've spent a lot of time destroying towers, and have many times ended the round with zilch.

That's the main problem with all the space maps though, you dont get any points for destroying "strategic objects" like towers and guns (and even for destroying the Death Star; nothing!).

The space maps are sadly lacking in point scoring opportunities, and have very little incentive to play, other than just for the hell of it, or to kill time waiting for the next infantry map to start.  Yes it's "fun", but the satisfaction of spending most of a round destroying towers or rescuing transports for no reward  whatsoever is starting to wear a little thin.

Anyway, that's perhaps a topic for another thread.  I highly doubt anyone is stats padding on this mod, there just aint enough players (yet).

points mean squat.
I just play the game, and Im glad I dont pay attention to any of that stuff
All that matters is if YOUR TEAM WINS.
If you pay attention to your "personal stats", you are not being a team player.

My problem is that I always want to be the best, and I usually are, but when I am the best fragger, I dont teamplay. Its hard to resist going solo in FS since its so easy with the Trooper kit.

two very different schools of thought here.

My feeling on the matter is that stats can show how much you achieved for your team in a given round. If you weren't killing the enemy or supporting your teammates- what were you doing? (stats don't show how many team mates jumped on your APMs or crashed their speeders into your tank...)

Like Irachanu, I get competitive and I have to reign that in sometimes. And often when my team won't work together or if we're going to lose the round I just decide to take as many enemies down with me as possible.

Anyway, the lack of points isn't my gripe with space maps, but it would be nice to get points rather than martyrdom when you hyperspace a gallo'!
