I say leave the Mine Cart as it is. It can be used to sweep mines and as a road block, but that's pretty much it. In my eyes it's mostly there for fluff anyhow. Then again, the Alliance does have a tradition of doing whacky things with ordinary vehicles, so maybe, maybe...

I'm sure that the mine would have more than one kind of vehicle...

Anyways, the Mine (Not explosive mines) Excavator could be a good starting project for anyone new devs that get recruited.

And I'm thinking the area that covers the teammates could be a deflector shield instead of a metal cover.

If there were to be a repair crane I'm thinking the the operator would sit behind the driver and the crane would have an area in the back in which it can fold up into when not in use.

Well , quite big a plan , and a bit of a longshot if you ask me wink
Still , i love , -mean absolutely- your idea of the moveable cover for passengers big_smile
But .....ehm shields????!!! I thought the metal cover fits better , its just a minesweeper of sort ,
improvised into a semi-combat vehicle by some rebels otherwise I got it wrong smile
