Re: Stormtrooper transport

Rebels have the APC Freerunner, Imperials have the shuttle. Both have strengths and weaknesses. It's kinda like how on Mos Espa the Rebs have Combat Speeders and the Imps have AT-STs. They're two completely different vehicles, but the map is excellent still.

But yes, Imps need an AA vehicle and Light Tank (the two could possibly be combined somehow like with the T1-B). Just like the Rebs need a heavy tank/tank destroyer (like the T3-B). Oh, and we have to come up with some sort of artillery vehicle for the Imps. Maybe a Firehawke with a heavy ballistic gun (not that you can't already use it as artillery by zooming and lobbing projectiles over hills, but it's not exactly that terror-inspiring, I'd assume).

Re: Stormtrooper transport

My thought for the Imperial artillery was the repulsorlift Heavy Artillery vehicle that the Imperials had in Force Commander. I'd give it a full salvo of missiles, but make it take like a minute to reload, so that it doesn't turn into a overpowered combat vehicle. And in addition to the missiles, it gets smoke-dropping tracer rounds that have the distance indicator on them: you can use them to get a fix on the target you're aiming for.

Re: Stormtrooper transport

Yeah. Say what you will about Force Commander, but the Imperial artillery was actually quite cool, both the tripod thing that had to be deployed to fire (this could probably be coded into FS) and the big grey Heavy Artillery platform, which is probably a better choice.

Re: Stormtrooper transport

why not for the imps AA vehicle the AT-AA

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/All_Terr … i-Aircraft

give it a fast flak canon and for secondary give it some sort of scatter shot (like a shotgun) to provide a wide field of flak fire.

reason i think this would be best for the job is that it is the only vehicle to have been seen in all the major star wars RTS games wouldn't be that over powered that you would have to redesign everything ( you could make the flak gun inacceret.

i loved the force commander mobile arty but another choise that i think would be maybe as good would be the SPMA (Self-Propelled Medium Artillery) give it a high cool down time and long reload time but give it big ammount of damage and AoE.

Walkers are too hard to code.

Re: Stormtrooper transport

but isn't the AT-AT a walker? i thought it was going to be coded into the game

Re: Stormtrooper transport

What he's saying is that coding legs takes a long, long time. The AT-ST took a long time, the AT-AT even more so as it has four legs, and the AT-AA, too, would take a significant time (especially as it, too, has four legs). Far easier to make it a repulsor vehicle.
