I still like to mess around on vanilla every so often, and I really dislike having to uninstall, reinstall, and patch games that I already have installed... It would just make it an annoyance to be able to play FS again.

I'd do it, too. I'm having a heck of time trying to play FS since I updated 2142 to 1.5. sad And I bought 2142 FOR First Strike. big_smile Getting to play 2142 is just a little bonus. tongue

Anyone who plays an online game makes sure it's patched to the latest version.

Requiring a non-current patch to play FS would probably adversely affect our chances of pulling in any new players in the future.

Sure I'll go back to 1.4.  I'm wondering though, the more recent deliveries of 2142 to the game stores etc. are going to be 1.5 arent they?  If that's the case can those people still use a 1.4 patch to overwrite the files?

I can't update to 1.5 so I would be happy, but getting the casual gamers that we rely on to fill the servers to make a spare 2142 will be tough.

I think if a player even plays vanilla as well as FS, they will drop FS in most cases instead of copy/pasting folders each and every time they switch mods.

It seems most FS players bought the game for this mod or play this mod solely.  Aren't we after the people who have 2142 sitting around and who will give a great mod a shot if they hear about it?

That said, I hear Imperial's concerns as to where the heck is our player base considering the high web traffic we get.
