Yeah, I'm of the opinion of biding time. I think we can all agree that our interest in this modification and what it seeks to inject into gaming is strong, even if we don't play the mod on a regular basis. But forcing people to do some fairly time-consuming things may alienate some fringe playerbase to the point of losing them permanently. And the word of mouth from players we lose won't help us at all.
Let's wait for a patch, either on the BF2142 side (there's strong evidence that there will be another patch, including more community content), or with First Strike finding a solution to the problem and releasing a fix for the mod. More people will play when a new version is released, just a question of how many we lose before that. I think we need to keep the loss number as low as possible.
You devs aren't about to give up on us just because we've a small player base, or that the engine support isn't perfect, are you?
