Our server was near full everyday for two weeks and then after that it seemed like everyone quit playing FS. Where did everyone go?

Great question! Actually I was starting to play quite regularly, but after the BF 1.5 patch came out, I was unable to join any servers. Even after updating/uninstalling/reinstalling going through that whole song and dance, I couldn't join any servers. So it sorta fell away for a while.......

I'm still not back playing, but once all the bugs and issues with the latest update and BF patch get sorted out, i'll give this mod another shot.

Re: Where did everyone go?

I freakin' hate that the Rogue Tribe server is so popular. I can't fracking play on the thing with a 150+ ping.....it so dumb as well because I can play BF1942 on a freakin' server in Japan with no problems, I can play TF2 on a server in Russia....but NOOOOOOO not 2142 that would be TOO MUCH FUN WOULDN'T IT?

Re: Where did everyone go?

I think the majority of our players are from that side of the globe hence the RT server being rather popular.  For whatever reason the mod isn't catching on over here like I had expected. sad  Maybe I should make some posters and go to a bunch of the game stores?  pfff EA might get pissed about something like that though. roll

I think it is just reflective of how the entire concept of modding is being lost on PC gamers/manufacturers these days.

How many hundred thousand people are there on Steam...and yet great mods like Eternal Silence and Empires, basically full-fledged, free games, have two or three active servers at the most?

It's just irritating that creativity is rewarded by no one giving a damn, you know?

Re: Where did everyone go?

A little something that's crossed my mind many times is how much more popular could this have been if it had been sold in stores?  This has probably been discussed before and I'm just outa the loop.  Granted there's all the copyright stuff and using game engine technology created by company A to create a game sold by company B.  Like all the games that have been built using id technology for example.  I don't know how all that works, the marketing and whatnot, but I still can't help but wonder how it might be different.  Would you devs basically have to sell the rights to your creation for it to be sold in stores?  On the other hand you've got a great item in your portfolio for potential employers to drool over.  Anyways, something like this deserves more attention.  *goes off to hijack the Goodyear blimp*
