Topic: Is this mod dead?

I logged on tonight and noticed no one is online but there are many servers up. So does this mean the mod is dead?

No, by no means is this mod dead, there were nearly 30 people playing earlier

It's summer, people go party, go on vacation, and still about 25 play this mod every night. It will be busier after the summer imo

It's not dead. However, it has a very small player base and could thus easily appear that way. We got some more players come 1.2, but unfortunately it seems many of them left again when Dice released the 1.50 patch.

There are many reasons why this mod doesn't have too many players. I'm only thankful people give it a chance and are loyal to it, and hope that numbers will increase in the future.

As long as I can jump on and have a game with a decent number of people, I'm okay with that. Though naturally the mod shines brightest when you have a full game going. That said I never really play my own mod much heh, I think I need constant creative stimulation so I often mod more than I play

Its because BF2142 is over priced considering how old it is.  If it were cheaper to buy, more people would play this.  You guys should branch out and advertise a little more.  You guys have a lot more done and a lot more potential than TNE for HL2.  Drop a line there without directly advertising wink

First Strike is far from dead. I've seen a fair few new players over the last week or so, and this at a time of year when gaming interest tends to be at its lowest. I've no doubt the 'PC Gaming' feature helped there.

I think it's up to those of us that are into FS to persuade others that it's well worth downloading. To that end, I've been posting on the forums of ex-SWBF1/2 clans about how good it is. Trouble is, many of them were really pissed off with general flakiness version 1.0... It seems that, like the Emperor, they're not as forgiving as I am! Also, in many cases, they've moved on to shiny new games like ET:QW, Crysis and CoD4, and they're loath to go 'backwards' to a less graphically sophisticated game. 

Still, I'll keep plugging away... I'll wear the buggers down!
