Re: Whatever happened to Xerohour?

Oh yeah I loved your X-Wing. To be honest I can't remember that much as well about the incident, but I DO know that I bad mouthed xerohour. I'm pretty sure I didn't bad mouth the mod because most of the people actually liked me. What happened to Aquila? He, me, and 3-4 other people were the ones that started the mod in the first place. Can't believe it's gotten this far.

Re: Whatever happened to Xerohour?

Aquila had college responsibilities. He stopped workin on the mod quite a while before actually leaving. He made a few sporadic comebacks but, again, RL stopped him. Shame, he was very keen and a nice guy.

PS. It wasnt my X Wing (If you mean myself) . It was an Xwing update, that was included in an interview with Planet Battlefield (if I remember correctly) you did, that peaked my interest in joining FS.

Re: Whatever happened to Xerohour?

Oh lol. I can't remember it's been so long. And about the public interview incident, it was because I said that the player was going to be able to control heroes such as Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker. Aquila and I agreed that this was going to be in the mod but apparently xerohour didn't know since he joined later. It wasn't as organized as it was back then as it is today so a lot of miscommunication ocurred. Anyways he got really upset over this for some reason and he decided to kick me. And like I said since it was his site no one could really do anything about it. When I asked him to take my content off the site since I was obviously not going to get credited for it he said he would but my stuff was still there. Heck a lot of the stuff on the wiki was made by me lol such as this.

"The Republic is gone. The Jedi are no more. The Empire has risen. With the Dark Lord of the Sith at his side, Emperor Palpatine has installed dozens of Moffs across the galaxy, in an effort to seize even more power for himself. The Constitution has been amended countless times. There are Star Destroyers in every system, Stormtroopers on every major planet. Freedoms have been severely limited during the New Order.
A few good men and women from the Senate have decided that enough is enough. They decide to form the Rebel Alliance to restore the Republic in order to combat the evil Galactic Empire. With the backing of major manufacturers and species, the Rebels can effectively wage a war against the tyrannical Galactic Empire.

Battles will be fought on multiple worlds. From the lush jungles of Yavin IV, to the snowy plains of Hoth. Both sides can win. The Rebel Alliance with its guerrilla tactics, and the Galactic Empire with it's brute force. It is only a matter of who will strike first…"

and of course a lot of the vehicle, class and weapons listings. But I'm glad to see xerohour got what he deserved.

PS: I believe the interview was for Total Battlefield.

Re: Whatever happened to Xerohour?

The classes got a complete redesign (multiple times , infact). I remember back in the early-ish days the classes were very very different. There were wookiee , Calamari, Bothan Spy, Dark Trooper classes etc. We ditched all that for 2 reasons - time constraints and ,more importantly, being weary of being like Battlefront.
Whatever the case, the class design literally has no similarities now, to what it was. I believe that the only work , from before I joined atleast, that is still included in the mod now is a couple of weapons , the Xwing and a few nades.

I actually miss those early days. Being ignorant of all the engine limitations and problems meant we could dream about the end result. I was so excited to work on Endor, and how good it could look on BF2 - a better engine than what I had worked on in the past (or so I thought), little did i know just how crap the engine was/is for forest environments - particularly one with gigantic trees. tongue
