Ok heres what happened from the memory of the First Strikes official historian
. (I joined the teams just days after Vader was kicked) yes thats how long ago this was.
Vaders position on the team was simply as a designer, he did not have any modding specific talents. This infuriated alot of people, because we was constantly making posts listing things he wanted done when he had no ability to help out himself. Furthermore people like to actually have their own influence on how the mod should work, not simply have one person dictate the design of the mod. The catalyst (straw that broke the camels back) that resulted in Vader being kicked was, an interview with totalBF2 that stated the mod would include many things that were both unwanted by a good deal of the team and impossible in the engine. With xEROs temper it didn't have to be much, to push to get him off the team. Vader was furthur banned from the forums when xERO showed a link to the Lucas Arts forums where the day after Lord Vader was kicked a person by the same name started two seperate thread on the Lucas Arts forums claiming that FS was attempting to rip off Battlefront. (Assuming for a second this wasn't A) a major coincidence or B) Xero putting the nail in Vaders coffin) Vader was claiming that the very classes, map ect. he had instructed the team to make were ripping off Battlefront. Thankfully Lucas Arts didn't respond to the thread and the mod was definately small enough at that stage to fly under the radar. As a result Vader was banned from these forums.
xEROhOUR was the teams community maanger; this ment he was the Administrator of the forums, Webmaster, News updates compiler, Recruitment guy, server master/owner, ect. (He also did some 2d art for the mod). xERO like many Devs on this mod have put alot of time and effort not to mention money into the mod. But unlike the other FS-addicted devs, he expected to be rewarded for his efforts by getting exactly his way. When he didn't get his way he would throw a hissy fit, which in extreme circumstances involved ripping down the forums/website to prove how important to the mod he was. When Sven (a modeller and owner of our smaller server) left the mod control of his server assets was transferred to Imperial, this angered xERo as he believed that control of such assets was generally his responsibility. How ever he had been away for quite a while and as such someone needed to take over sven's responsibilities. Due to some miss-communications; he threw one of his hissy fits. He gave us a short period of time to salvage what we could from his server then shut our site down and kept the domain name. The old domain www.firststrikemod.com as previosuly posted now has a link to a star trek mod, this the phrase "(a quality mod)" next to the link. Quite a large chunk of our fan base was lost in this sudden change of domains.
...and so ends todays history lesson into two bad periods in FS's generally happy life. Hopefully this can be put to rest now. Tomorrows history lesson "Clash of the Titans: A tale of Bandu and Woodrow"
