Topic: I had forgotten how fun this was

OK, so I finally got around to download and set up the BF2 editor. I'm a long-time RTS scenario designer, and used to be a member of Woad Creations, which was a renowned design team making scenarios for Stronghold, Age of Empires I and II, Empire Earth, E:DOTW, and other games. Funnily enough, I'd forgotten how much I love to make maps, but now it all came back to me.

Nothing spectacular so far, but I'm learning more and more each day.

You're out and about in the woods with some sheets of wood and a shovel, and you find a Black Hawk wreck.
What's a guy to do? Use the dead bird as a makeshift bunker ceiling, of course!

Maybe Control Point flags aren't meant to be rotated. It was back in its upright position the next time I uploaded the map, anyhow.

What else should I put in the damned hole? I'm tired of putting crates everywhere, and the flower pot doesn't fit.
I wish BF2 came with more furniture.

Pretty much finished. Added the Black Hawk's door and some sandbags outside for additional protection,
and another chopped-down tree over the hull for added camouflage. The Commies will never find us here cool !

Re: I had forgotten how fun this was

A distance from the wreck bunker, the Reds have built a fire base and supply storage.
To the hot place with camouflage, these guys fend off air attack with Middle Kingdom macho:

Before you ask, I have no idea why I placed the sandbags facing outwards.
http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r292/safe-keeper/Lagerogskytestilling2.jpg

I really liked having the fuel dump where it was, but I had to put down more sandbags to keep
American flank attacks at bay, and having flammables right behind you in a firefight
can put you at a bit of a disadvantage.

So it got moved back to within pissing range of the parked armoured patrol car, the storage crates and the clothesline.

Again, nothing breathtaking, but I felt like posting it for some reason anyway. When the editor doesn't crash, decide to do something strange for some inexplicable reason, or spew out endless lines of red text even though it should have learned by now that I'll just ignore it like I'm supposed to... it's not that bad at all. Pretty fun, really.

Maybe it's a scotish regiment and the kilt was washed with a new red jacket ?

But i like the setting...

CYNIC, n. A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be. Hence the custom among the Scythians of plucking out a cynic’s eyes to improve his vision

Luke how about you stay on topic and stop making ridiculous comments about the color of the cloths...

Safe is this your first map? And do you have a plan for it/minimap drawn up.
