Re: Officer Kit Discussion

Safe-keeper whats your ingame name? You talk a lot about tactics and teamwork. I'd like to check your stats to see how well its working out for you

My stats are **** because I test the game, I don't play it, but let me reply to this one before I leave.

Every time I have seen a truly spectacular defense or attack in FS, it's been a teamwork deal. My favorite FS moment was when Jafar started a squad and, as "useless" Officer, created a bunker at Palace Ruins with a MK II, shield dome, ammo, bacta, and generator, and ordered people to set up a perimeter around it. He constantly used his sensor device, told us to switch classes, move around, get back to bunker to defend it, etc., and guess what? The few stormies that made it to the bunker were mowed down. The bunker fell a couple of times, but only to be swiftly rebuilt. We won by a landslide. I think, and hope, I still have the BattleRecorder file lying around on my HD somewhere.

Let me just reiterate that: Every time I have seen a truly spectacular defense or attack in FS, it's been a teamwork deal. VOIP + competent SL + teamwork-oriented squad following instructions equals win. FS is a teamwork-oriented game, just like PR is a realism-centered game, Battlefront is a run-and-gun game, and Gran Turismo is a racing game. If people refuse to accept this... that's their problem. Let their disorganized strikes get swiftly destroyed by the squads of Jafar, TY2D2, and the other teamwork-loving Squad Leaders out there cool .

Hm, if the UAV Droid is overpowerd...
...when please remove the homing beacons from the game !

You only have two of them, and they have a very short range. So no.

Re: Officer Kit Discussion

Safekeeper is absolutely right. Teamwork is where it's at. All my best games have been in a good squad working together. All my most frustrating times have been when the guys in the squad don't play together or follow squad orders. But that's the way of playing on public servers...

Different kits suit different players' styles, and there's the self-fulfilling thing that if you don't like something you're unlikely to excel with it. For me, the Officer's pistol is an awesome weapon, particularly at close quarters, and I've lost count of the AT-STs I've taken out with it. Others struggle to come to terms with the fact that its 'only' a pistol, so changing any other part of the kit isn't going to make it any more popular, but giving it a rapid-fire weapon like the E11 would; that's a fact.

But who really cares if few players use the Officer kit? It's there for those of us who realise its value, and apart from the Eweb/Mk II not being redeployable, it's just about spot on for its purpose.

Re: Officer Kit Discussion

Can't make them redeployable.  It sorta kills servers when they get picked up with people still in it wink

Re: Officer Kit Discussion

Yeah, I was told there was an issue with redeployment - but I didn't know that was it!
