Topic: CTD after deploy

Ok so for starters i have vista 64bit, started with a fresh bf2142 install, then did FS 1.2 then FS 1.25 then BF 1.5 patch. I have tried other ways of installing and nothing seems to fix this problem. Everytime after I click deploy I get a CTD and it says bf2142 has stopped working windows is looking for a solution to this problem blah blah whatever that message is but yeah basically CTD. I have looked all over and cannot for the life of me figure out how to fix this problem. I did one time play on a WolfGaming server for a while but nobody else was playing at the time. I thought i finally got it to work but then i tried a different server, got a CTD then went back to wolf and it CTD again. So it pretty much worked once by some fluke but I can't figure it out. Help anyone? I played this mod a little bit when it first came out but then reformatted that computer, then got a new one, and now I have this lapgtop so i'm really eager to finally play again but this is getting frustrating lol.

Does vanilla 2142 do the same thing? Are you running the game as Administrator?

ok run as admin doesnt change anything and vanilla runs just fine so you can see why i'm a bit puzzled. i'll try running it in xp compatability mode but that usually gives me a no disc error even though i have the disc in.

edit: yeah i get a message saying to insert the disc in compatability mode so i'm stumped.

Ok so i used the battle of yavin vista fix and it fixed the problem for everything. I thought that was just something specific to battle of yavin but it fixed my problem whatever it was so thanks i guess even though i pretty much did it on my own haha

What fix is that, could you explain, I have the same problem!

My info:
Windows XP
2142 Deluxe + 1.5 Official 2142 Patch
FS 1.2 + 1.3 Patch
+CTD after deploy
+Can't see servers (this doesn't matter I know how to do it)
+ My 2142 Awards and Medals are in Fs too
+ There's a 'ERROR' folder in side mods/FirstStrike
