Re: Rhen Var Ice Plains.

Entha rapefests are pretty intense, as these can happen at any of the cpntrol points.
If your team is getting pushed around the map, chasing burning flags, then your squad leader is in error of judgement.
Its not hard to dispatch defenders to hold real-estate, unless your mind has been softened by too much continuous "squad" action.
Winning Entha is about holding territory, so You must dispatch people from your main group.
The power of a good team leader is when he/or she can operate in multiple capacities , not just a narrow set of conditions.  !)

Back on topic, Rhen Var Ice Plains is a boring map with too few players (as is Bestine), but one of the best on a busy server. I've not seen the 16-player size, though.

16 player is quite fun in small games, and FANTASTIC in large ones.  Once the rebels catch the re-cappable CP (Can't for the life of me remember what its called) it becomes non-stop combat up the steps where the imps spawn to get to the other CP's.

More non-push-mode infantry-only maps à la Mos Entha for me, please!

As for non-push-mode, yes, they must be Infantry only.  I'd love to see a few more of these.  I think it will be hard to get it to work to the same level that you have with Entha, though.

1 more conquest style, maybe.  Our goal though is to have everyone hit one another head on, not chase one another in groups of 2-3.

Re: Rhen Var Ice Plains.

I think a Correllian Corvette boarding map would be a blast for another non-push mode infantry map.   I also think it's a more feasible idea than the Rebels taking over an ISD idea, which although fun was ridiculous in a nerdy, canon kinda way.

Corvette interior with only smoke-type grenades and 2142's decent dynamic lighting would be pretty close to pure sex.

I also think starfighter-focused maps could be spiced up a bit, at least one or two more.

The mod has yet to see a Rogue Squadron-esque ground dogfighting map with something like a target to bomb and ground-pounders being afforded the option to man tons of defensive turrets around it.

Re: Rhen Var Ice Plains.

Don't get me wrong. I like the push mode maps (are they a First Strike innovation?), but by their nature the sequence of events is somewhat linear.

Things are much more random on Entha, which is what makes it so interesting, even though it's a relatively small map.

Feel free to email them to me , thanks very much.

It generates core dumps which are fairly large however I've just deleted them all.

I can't correlate them with the game.

this is the answer I got apparently I can't send them.

NP dude, any thing you can do to help is appreciated.

Hello Blitz,

To get this thread back on the subject, our server administrator send me the following message.

If the people at FS want the dump files  then they can email me, renegade at roguetribe.com, an FTP area where I can upload the core dumps to.
